Minister C. Denise Marcelle

 

BIOGRAPHY

 

 

C. Denise Marcelle was the second child born to Raymond Marcelle and Ethel Cole Marcelle Jones. She is the mother of 2 daughters, Demeka Underwood and D’Licia Brown, and the grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 1.

 

Minister Marcelle serves on the ministerial staff at Disciples Outreach Ministry, where she formerly held the position of Assistant Pastor; she was the 1st teacher and superintendent of their Sunday School. Her pastor is Bishop Thelma Pearl.

 

Minister Marcelle serves her community and holds memberships in the following organizations:

  • The Ladies of Purpose

  • The 6th Man Club

  • The Nehemiah Society

Minister Marcelle received the 2007 Polaris Award, presented by the Greater Baton Rouge Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. and the 2007 Brec Trail Blazer award for her outstanding contributions to the Community and City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was recognized and honored by Southern University for her academic accomplishments, where she was on the Dean’s List in 2007. She is currently a junior at Southern University where she studies Criminal Justice and Psychology.

 

She is the founder and president of SOS House of inpatient facility for dug addicted and/or abused women and children. She is currently seeking the position of City Councilwoman for District 7 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is employed by Attorney Gail Horne Ray, as her legal assistant and she is a Notary Public.
